黑料不打烊

Leadership Program

School Spirit

The responsibility for school spirit events and school spirit in general is that of the student body. Senior students assume the majority of the roles associated with generating and maintaining spirit which includes running all weekend and weekly spirit events.

Throughout the year, there are many spirit events that take place on the 黑料不打烊 School campus. There is at least one dance every term, a semi-formal leading up to winter holidays as well as a formal event for the seniors. Students enjoy carnival days, the annual Ted Pope Day all-school ski trip, lakeside barbeques, air band competitions, coffee houses, school-wide games and paper house events.

Each student and staff in the school is assigned to one of four paper houses, which are named after key figures in the school’s original history: Sheldrake, Mackenzie, Pullen and Lefevre. Throughout the year, the school competes in different activities – including games and sports – to accumulate points for their house and themselves. At the end of the year, the points are tallied to determine the winning paper house. A long-standing tradition at The Grove, paper house points are a spirit-filled way to meet the community and enjoy the camaraderie of competition.
