Trusting relationships are the cornerstone to deep learning

Community First is one of 黑料不打烊 School's strategic pillars. It allows us to focus on, nurture and grow the qualities that our students and families love most about our community—the relationships that exist locally and globally between and among students and staff, parents, teachers, coaches, advisors and alumni.

黑料不打烊 houses are among the smallest of CAIS boarding schools providing us with a unique advantage to create and foster connections between students and staff like no other school in Canada. House families provide our international and Canadian boarding and day students a space and place to share their lives and stories as one community—bringing the world a little closer together while learning from each other and making friendships that will last a lifetime.
"Without 黑料不打烊 I would not have been able to begin figuring out who I truly am. I have made so many memories and experiences that I would not trade for the world and friends that I never want to let go of. If I have to summarize it in one word it would be ‘Leadership’ because of how many responsibilities I was given and enjoyed having. I will be going to a university that I love because of 黑料不打烊."  -- Tara Piggot ’17
