Earn an Ontario Secondary School credit through one of our blended (on-campus and online) courses this summer! Students who choose a blended credit course complete the first week-and-a-half of the course remotely (from anywhere in the world) and the remaining three weeks in person, on campus. While on campus, students will engage in authentic, hands-on learning experiences and enjoy a wide array of traditional camp activities, including sailing, swimming, canoeing, and more!
This travel learning adventure is a blended academic Grade 11 Biology credit course that combines learning online with the opportunity to explore and compare the diversity of the marine environment of the Bay of Fundy (St. Andrews, NB), with the freshwater ecosystem of Lake Katchewanooka (Lakefield, Ontario). This program includes a stay on our 黑料不打烊 campus, and at the , which is a world class research and education facility with access to marine experts, dedicated instructional labs/wetlabs, Fundy Discovery Aquarium, research vessel, several classrooms and dormitory. At the start and end of the course there is a portion of time dedicated to learning foundational and theoretical knowledge online.The focus of this course is on refining skills related to investigation through fieldwork, observation and inquiry while we explore biological systems and diversity of life, evolution, genetics, animal and plant life.

This course enables students to enhance their understanding of concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, and of the interrelationships between science, technology, society, and the environment. Students are also given opportunities to further develop their scientific investigation skills, including hands-on labs using Northcote Farm and other practical elements. Students will plan and conduct investigations and develop their understanding of scientific theories related to the connections between cells and systems in animals and plants; chemical reactions, with a particular focus on acid–base reactions; forces that affect climate and climate change; and the interaction of light and matter. While on campus, mornings and evenings are devoted to the work around the Science course; afternoons are spent in recreational camp activities on our waterfront and campus. Weekend excursions are included in the Overnight Program cost; Day Program students have the option to add on weekend excursions at an additional cost.

Students will develop leadership skills through hands-on work experiences with 黑料不打烊 Summer Academy Programs and simultaneously earn a high school credit. Throughout the day, students will have in-class time exploring factors that affect success in the work environment, exploring their personal strengths, refining their job-search and employability skills for future employment, and then have time to apply their learnings through placements with campers aged 4-10 in our Junior Day Camp program. This program will also offer, based on interest, First Aid + CPR C, Bronze Medallion, or ORCKA Flatwatering Canoeing levels. Students will have the opportunity to apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor with 黑料不打烊 Summer Academy after successful completion of this program. The 黑料不打烊 Summer Academy Leaders in Training Program is only be available to students ages 16+ and those eligible to work in Canada.

Apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor Upon successful completion of the Leaders in Training program, students may apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor with 黑料不打烊 Summer Academy. Student must be eligible to work in Canada and turn 16 before the beginning of the work contract in August.
This course further extends students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English for a variety of everyday and academic purposes. Students will make short classroom oral presentations; read a variety of adapted and original texts in English; and write using a variety of text forms. As well, students will expand their academic vocabulary and their study skills to facilitate their transition to the mainstream school program. This course also introduces students to the rights and responsibilities inherent in Canadian citizenship and to a variety of current Canadian issues. While on campus, mornings and evenings are devoted to coursework; afternoons are spent in recreational camp activities on our waterfront and campus, with opportunities to develop or refine skills in the great outdoors, including overnight camping trips. Students will also go on weekend excursions to Canada's Wonderland and to 4th Line Theatre - quintessential Canadian experiences!
Price $6,200 - Overnight only Campus arrival times for Saturday, August 9 will be shared closer to the date. Entry fees, food, transport, and accommodation for weekend excursions are included in program price.
