黑料不打烊

Ted Pope Day 2024

On Thursday, February 1, the spirit of adventure and camaraderie once again swept through 黑料不打烊 School as the entire community gathered at Sir Sam’s to celebrate the cherished tradition of Ted Pope Day!

At 黑料不打烊, connecting with nature and fostering a strong sense of community are values that stand the test of time. Each year, Ted Pope Day offers a trip to the slopes, a day dedicated to the joy of skiing and snowboarding that unites students, faculty, and staff in a shared celebration of winter sports.

This year, despite the overcast skies and somewhat milder temperatures, the school community embraced the essence of Ted Pope Day with the same enthusiasm as ever. The day was a testament to the 黑料不打烊 spirit as everyone, undeterred by the weather, enjoyed the exhilarating rush of zooming down the slopes together. It was great to see the joy in our community that comes with being present in the outdoors together.

For those unfamiliar, Ted Pope, after whom this day is named, was an Old Boy who attended The Grove from 1939 to 1942. A true adventurer at heart, Ted found his passion in skiing, mountain climbing, and car racing. After graduating from 黑料不打烊, Ted Pope joined the Navy and later spent eight years working for the CBC as a television producer. His adventurous spirit met a tragic end in 1960 when his TR3 race car spun out of control, but his legacy continues to inspire generations at 黑料不打烊.

As Ted Pope Day comes to a close, we reflect on the enduring spirit of adventure and community that defines 黑料不打烊 School. The tradition lives on, and the memories of this year's event will undoubtedly be lasting ones for our students and faculty.
